Fees for film producers (cinema, tv, video, commercials, documentaries) at ancient places and museums in Egypt

During official opening hours (from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m)

1. 1000 US-Dollar per day of shooting at newly discovered ancient places

2. 5000 Egyptian Pounds per day of shooting (documentaries, cinematic and commercials) at excavation sites and in mosques, churches, monasteries and citadels.

3. 500 Egyptian Pounds per hour for the visit of tombs open to the public (except tombs listed under 6.)

4. 1000 Egyptian Pounds per hour for the visit of tombs not open to the public.

1500 Egyptian Pounds per hour for the visit of areas not open to the public.

5. 3000 Egyptian Pounds per hour for the visit of excavation sites of Nifertari or Tut-Anch-Amon. Here a permission from the secretary-general of the highest authority for antiquities is required.

6. 1000 Egyptian Pounds per hour for commercial and other photography at tombs not open to the public; also at excavation sites in the valley of kings, Meruro K-Valley, Bani Hassan and the valley Al-Aamarna.

7. 3000 Egyptian Pounds a day for commercial photography in the area of the Salah Al Din citadel.

8. 7000 Egyptian Pounds a day for commercial photography in areas open to the public.

9. 2000 Egyptian Pounds per hour in museums.

10. 3000 Egyptian Pounds per hour in the mummy’s hall in the Egyptian Museum.

Outside official opening hours

11. 3000 Egyptian Pounds additionally for each day of shooting for all areas.

Additional rates

12. 200 Egyptian Pounds a day are required for using electricity provided by the highest authority of antiquities.

13. 800 Egyptian Pounds supervision fee per shooting day to the highest authority of antiquities.
