Statement by the Presidency of the Republic

Vice President Omar Suleiman called on citizens to respond to the appeal of our Armed Forces for people to return to their homes and respect the curfew in support of the efforts ot the state to restore calm and stability, and to contain the damages and losses these demonstrations have caused since last week, to enable people to return to their jops and their daily lives, and to allow schools and universitiers to re-open.

The Vice-President added that the voice of those participating in the demonstrations had been heard, whether those calling for comprehensive reforms or those of who demonstrated in support of the President and the positions outlined in his speech to the people yesterday.

The Vice-President ended his appeal by stating that the dialogue with political forces, which he has been tasked by the President to begin, requires an end to demonstrations, and a restoration of normal life to Egyptian streets to create the conditions necessary for continuation and success.
